Whats the money for?

We are looking to raise the £15,000 in order to build a set of fully equipped drones. We currently operate Aircraft with 4 outrunner motors, but this means we can only carry a small, lightweight payload. We intend to build an aircraft with 6-8 motors on a larger frame that will allow us to carry larger, more advanced cameras such as SLR's and infrared cameras. The other thing we want to do is dramatically increase the flight time too!

The standard cost for one of these aircraft is in the range of £30k mark. However as we will have a team of in-house engineers constructing and programming the bird, it reduces this cost somewhat. We will then be offering the best quality services that are currently available - which can be tailored to suit the specific need of the project requirements! The money raised here will be used solely to purchase the components needed and to register that with the CAA for commercial use.

Who are we?

We have been building and repairing quadcopter's and hexcopter's for a few years now. With the massively expanding market for the use of this equipment in the commercial sector, we want to target that market with services that will allow for surveillance, inspections and capturing those breathtaking angles from above.

Whats a UAV for?

The use for these UAV's is overwhelming. From inspection the roofs of tall buildings, to checking the temperature of power cables for any defects and identify where repair work needs to take place. And then there is the obvious use case of simply recording hi definition video footage of almost anything for use in the media, music videos, and many other areas.

The intention is to create purpose built aircraft that will be used to provide the footage needed in any given circumstance.

Are you allowed to fly these UAV thingys?

CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) now impose restrictions on the use of this type of equipment. That restriction comes in the form of a certified qualification required in order to operate the vehicles for commercial use. This is no issue for our pilots who have over 3years flying experience here in the UK and abroad.

With contracts already under negotiation for energy companies and hospitals in the North West, we have a solid outlook on the coming years.

The funding we are looking for here will build a new addition to our current stock of aircraft that is more purpose built to achieve greater quality imaging and also allow for the use of infrared cameras for example. The flight times would also be dramatically increased allowing for longer video footage.

How does my free session work?

Anyone who donates the minimum reward amount for the free sessions will receive a session of video footage taken from this aircraft at no cost as a thank you for you contribution. Our experience pilots will turn up at your site and fly the aircraft around the areas you wish to shoot and either edit the videos for you or provide you with the raw footage. If the videography is to be done in the greater manchester are, there will be no cost at all. However if you require this to be undertaken further afield, then we would only need you to cover the travel expenses incurred.
